Dr. Anne-Lise Holahan is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She provides neuropsychological and psycho-educational assessments to children and adolescents who present with learning challenges or attention difficulties, as well as social, emotional or behavioural concerns. Dr Holahan is fully bilingual and able to offer assessments and reports in both English and French.
Dr. Holahan has extensive experience working with children and youth who have a medical history or condition that may affect the way their brain functions (such as premature birth, seizures, brain injury, concussion). She also works with children and youth who have a complex pattern of concerns that families and professionals have struggled to understand. In addition, Dr Holahan provides brief consultations to parents of infants and young children, focusing on attachment and using the principles of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.
Dr. Holahan has expertise in understanding how the brain works and how children develop. Through her assessments, she guides children, youth, and their families in understanding why a child is struggling, and how to help them. She focuses on the child’s strengths and vulnerabilities, understanding how these may impact the child in their day-to-day life, and providing strategies that may allow the child to succeed to their fullest potential. Dr. Holahan is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and flexible in her approach to working with children, youth, and their families.
Dr. Holahan began her training in Clinical Psychology at the University of Canterbury in England. She earned her Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in Clinical Psychology, with specialization in Pediatric Neuropsychology, in 2004 from McGill University in Montreal. She has trained in multiple pediatric hospital settings, including the Montreal Children’s Hospital, the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and the Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago in the United States. More recently, Dr. Holahan has extensive experience working with multidisciplinary teams at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and providing individual consultations to school settings.
